Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant Explosion and Accidents of 2015 and 2016

2015 has been a bad year for the aged Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant.
Five accidents in five months is bad, even for Indian Point.
2016 looks to be continuing that awful trend.
Indian Point is operating beyond its designed lifespan and without a license.

Here are links to some of the newspaper articles and other reports about the accidents.

Note that many of the articles quote Entergy's misinformation that Indian Point supplies 25 or 30% of New York City's electricity. According to Con Ed's annual reports (see page 116), Indian Point supplies 500 megawatts of the 6,000 to 12,000 that the NY Independent System Operators say that NYC and Westchester use. That's 4 to 8%, with a generating capacity of 3,000 – 5,000 megawatts more than is ever used, according to New York Independent System Operator figures.
